A long, long, time ago, before the “IoT” (Internet of things) was coined, I was involved with automation systems; back in the early days, these were known as “EMS back boxes”, energy management systems, remote control systems, temperature control and DDC systems, etc…

About 10 years ago, I started a small business called “The Mulkern Company” to provide automation support services.

For over three decades, I have been passionate about automation systems, especially systems that users love to work with.

Since the early 80’s, many of the systems I have created and installed are still functional in some of the largest sky scrapers buildings in the western US.

Often I am involved with the design and deployment of automation systems that are very complicated with multi platform system integration behind the scenes, yet simply understandable to the clients that use them.

I have made an effort over the years to focus on working with clients and users that are directly engaged with their building automation systems.

The primary focus is on helping those who need information to solve BAS related problems, and those that want to learn about building automation systems.
